Back in the saddle

New domain, new scanner stream, new website.

We’re back in the saddle with a whole new look and all sorts of ideas waiting to be developed. Red River Radio was about to expire and Google sites has sold to square space. When I went to look at square space the pricing was atrocious (Which Google said was going to be free). My simple $10 a year domain was going to renew at $30 bucks and they weren’t even going to give me free privacy. I was like SCREW THIS! I began shopping and accidentally stumbled on Azura Hosting. When attempt number one fell through I vented with their support guy who told me about they’re branded streaming and gave it a look a few days later. I could not believe the pricing so I jumped on it.

I have three years paid up in full and have all the tools I need to build a great brand. Hell, I have way more than I’ll ever use.

I’ve got the live stream up and it seems to be working fine. The text tags or “metadata” is a little slow but the audio latency is just as good as voscast was.

I have plans folks! I am not going to be a Radio Reference by any means. I am simply a web resource, wireless communications tool for the immediate area here around Lake Ralph Hall. A Scanner stream, local communications news, technology, maybe a little politics and a whole lot of doomsday preparation for those who will likely be “Left Behind” when Christ comes back to rally his troops.

I’m not planning on discussion forums and I’m sure not going to create a social page to bore you with scanner calls. I am looking to just build a wireless communications news source for the real estate around Lake Ralph Hall.
