For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12
People who live on the streets or in drug houses or places of prostitution and even drug houses know the spiritual battle between good and evil. Ask anyone who has over dosed and lived to talk about it or witnessed the murder of someone for some meaningless issue. How about some guy that for the powerful hold of some drug can completely change themselves and sell their soul to sex just to stay high. And the deeper they become consumed in this and other evils the more the unseen enemy tells them they can never go back!
I envy many young Christians who never had to experience the unseen war between Satan and mankind in order to get saved. They used to piss me off actually but today I see it as a gift, that they don’t have to experience the sickness and insanity I did to get saved. They are fortunate and honestly it doesn’t matter how one comes to Christ, it only matters that they did!
I am linking in a Fantastic video by Grace for Purpose about Spiritual Warfare. I hope you watch the whole thing, it has a lot of answers to a lot of questions many of us, myself included ask.
So essentially, the war we fight is hidden. It is against demonic forces, demonic influence, demonic control. There are powers at work behind the scene, behind the clouds that aim to keep us separated from God. It does that in ways we never think of and when we get smart to one they hit us with another this is the reason that for us to fight this evil we have to live rooted in Christ and God has to have given us the Holy Spirit, Which anyone saved receives the moment they confess their sins, repent and come to Christ.
You must recognize the attacks of the unforeseen so that you can protect yourself when these demonic powers come to lay claim to your soul. And if you think that by being saved, the devil will leave you alone or you can’t fall into Satan’s grip, think again! I can tell you because it happened to me and it wasn’t a pretty fall from grace!
for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again,
but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes. ~ Proverbs 24:17
Ephesians 6 11-20 Gives us spiritual tools to combat these invisible forces. The Armor of God is just one tool in the Christian arsenal. One of the most powerful, if not Most powerful is prayer. And how many of us spend any kind of time in prayer? But a time is coming that those who live in prayer may have an upper hand when the veil is broken and the spirit war is turned into a earth war.
